My specialism is lateral thinking, resolving the complexity encountered in the world with reductive poetic logic. I intertwine commercial and cultural practice: responding to the paradox of daily life and the complexities of project assignments. I seek focused solutions that feel inevitable. I get there by starting at the beginning, asking why, what if… then making sense of the things I find with radical acceptance and by embracing truth.

Formation Architects
corporate identity

All brands have a colour; Coke, Kellogg’s, Vodafone are red. IBM, Ford, Nokia are blue.

Formation Architects is green. Any green, a collection of greens + a tiny bit of gold (a highlight)

Green is the visual devise that links everything together; an envelope, paperclip, packing tape, pen, folder, plant, apple, book, bathroom hand towel.

Formation Architects observed that in client meetings, the people wearing suits glaze over when the poetic/creative part of architecture is discussed, but switch on to facts like sq footage and volumes etc. In response a fact, question, comment, idea, designed to excite, stimulate, engage, challenge, amuse, inspire, start conversation, is added to every correspondence, letter, email, fax, project report, competition entry, folio presentation.
